Ford recall: Inside door locks broken
Ford is recalling 45,173 of its 2015 Fiesta, 2016 Fusion, and 2016 Lincoln MKZ vehicles sold or ever registered in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Washington, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
These vehicles' inside door locks have a component that may break and could allow the door to open while the car is moving. According to a NHTSA report, this can increase the risk of injury or crash.
Dealers will look at the door, and if a repair is necessary, they will replace all locks in all four doors at no cost.
Letters will be mailed to owners on Dec. 4. Owners of these vehicles can call Ford at 1-866-436-7332. The recall number is 20V-177.
Recalled vehicles:
- 2015 Ford Fiesta
- 2016 Ford Fusion
- 2016 Lincoln MKZ
Chrysler recall: Battery malfunction
Chrysler recalls 32,125 of certain 2021-2023 Jeep Wrangler Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) vehicles. According to an NHTSA report, the battery may malfunction and lead to a fire while driving or parking, which can cause the risk of an injury or crash.
Chrysler asks customers not to charge their vehicles or park near structures until all cars are repaired. If a repair is needed, dealers will upgrade the battery pack software and replace the battery pack if necessary for free.
Notification letters will go out on Jan. 11, 2024. Customers can contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403 if they have any questions. The recall number for this repair is 89A.

Jaguar recall: Engine-mounted oil cooler hoses unsecured
Jaguar recalled 1,520 of some 2024 Land Rovers because the engine-mounted oil cooler hoses may not be on correctly. This can cause oil to leak onto the road, which can cause a problem for other vehicles and increase the risk of a crash, according to a NHTSA report.
Dealers will replace the fasteners and oil cooler hoses if there is a problem at no cost to the owner.
Customer notification letters will go out on Jan. 19, 2024. Customer service for Jaguar is 1-800-637-6837 if customers have any questions. The recall number is N845.

Volvo Trucks recall: Accelerator pedal position sensor deattached
Volvo is recalling 1,009 of its 2023-2024 VN trucks. If the accelerator pedal position sensor comes loose, the engine may not return to idle. This does not follow the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 124, "Accelerator Control Systems." If an engine does not return to idle quickly, the vehicle could lose control, increasing the risk of a crash or injury, according to an NHTSA report.
Dealers are still trying to find a way to fix this problem. Notification letters will go out on Jan. 21, 2024. If owners have any questions, they can contact Volvo Trucks at 1-800-528-6586. The recall number is RVXX2313.
